PAC sent 17 swimmers to the 2010
Speedo Western Region Senior Sectional Swimming Championships at
Mt. Hood Aquatic Center last week at Mt. Hood Aquatic Center.
PAC swam extremely well having 32 best times, 24 team records and
the men placed 36th and the women were 21st (combined we were 22nd-
the top Portland team)! Leading the way for the women
was Jessica Bottleberghe with seven best times and five individual
team records (50 Back, 100 Back, 200 Fly, 200 IM, 400 IM). In
addition to all of her best times and records she placed 9th in the
200 Fly, 14th in the 400 IM, 12th in the 200 IM, and 23rd in the
100 Free. Her sister Monica broke three 13-14 Girls records
(200 Free, 200 Fly, 400 IM and). They were joined by Kara
Stranski and 12 year old Felicia Anderson on our record setting 200
Free Relay (11th place), 400 Free Relay (14th place), and 800 Free
Relay, and 200 Medley Relay. Laura Jeddeloh joined Jessica,
Kara, and Felicia for our record setting 400 Medley relay on the
last day of the meet.
On the boys side Kyle Law led the
way with four team records and six best times (200 Free, 400
Free, 800 Free, 1500 Free) and placed 11th in the 800, 29th in the
200 Back and 10th in the 1500 in which he made his first winter
Junior National cut (so he will join Jessica in Atlanta, GA this
December). Max Yakubovich (three best times) continued
his assault on the fly records with records in the 50 Fly, 100 Fly
and 200 Fly while Henry Fellows continued his dominance in the IM's
with a record in the 200 IM and had four best times. Kyle,
Henry, and Max were joined by Dana Emerson on our record setting
200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay, which placed
16th!
In addition to all of the records
and points the rest of the team had some great swims: Owen
Bley- Male one best time, Dana Emerson one best time, Robert Macy
one best time, Brandon Risley one best time, Daniel Volker two best
times, and Zach Walker four best times. Good job PAC! A
special thanks to all of our parents who timed and officiated and
to our younger swimmers who came out to support the team!
Gracie Julian, who worked as finalist walk out helper and Sylvia
Leeb- Haigh who hung out and cheered with our seniors!
