Group eligibility: Swimmers must be at least 9 years of age and have the ability to swim 100 free, back, and breast with good technique and the ability to complete a 50 butterfly (typically swimmers are 10- 13 years old and have two or more year's swimming experience). In addition swimmers should be able to complete 5 X 100 free on a 2:15 sendoff. Swimmers should be ready for increased training and building of their training base (conditioning) in addition to technique refinement and an introduction to dry land training. Swimmers will be offered 5 workouts per week and are expected to attend 90% of the practices.
Goals: Swimmers will begin to set goals and become aware of best times and improvement of those times throughout the season. Attend in-house meets in addition to age and level appropriate meets. Complete 15 X 100 on a 1:45 sendoff and 90% attendance. Qualify for OSI ’A’ Champs, Age Group Sectionals, and other meets with B+ or time standards.
Practices: 60-90 minutes per day plus the introduction of dry land. 5 workouts per week. Swimmers who show commitment, are at least 13 years of age, and have OSI ’A' Swimmers under 13 may be invited to special workouts.
