Why Do We Need Officials?

Every meet requires a set of skilled volunteers responsible for ensuring that the meet is legal, runs smoothly, and swimmers have the opportunity to compete fairly in their races. Without officials, Oregon Swimming and USA Swimming would not sanction the meet, so swimmers' times would not count.

Why does PAC need Officials?

When our team goes to a meet or hosts our own meet (AEM Fall IN), we are expected to bring a large contingent of officials. Our team is expected to help make the meet legal. Teams that don’t have officials often don't get asked to meets. Swimmers from bronze to senior levels all need to have parents officiating so that all the meets we attend as a club are covered.
