COACHING STAFF

Our club swims at four sites around Portland. Through mentor practices, swim meets, and social outings, our swimmers benefit from exposure to different styles and strengths of each individual coach!

Scott Miyako - Head Coach

P1, P2, P3, Senior Coach | ASCA Level 3 | SSDC Strength and Conditioning Certified

Scott has been coaching with PAC since 2019. He has worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities and currently works with PAC's Performance groups.

Scott's love for swimming began in 1991 as an age group swimmer in Southern California. He graduated from UCLA in 2007 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and began a career as an entrepreneur soon after. One of Scott's business ventures brought him and his wife to Portland in 2014. In 2015, Scott was diagnosed with cancer and had a long and challenging fight to survive. He attributes a lot of his ability to fight cancer to lessons that he learned from swimming and other sports. In 2018, Scott made the decision to return to aquatics as a swim instructor, a Summer Swim League Coach, and as Head Coach of the Grant High School Swim Team. In his first year back in aquatics, Scott received recognition from PP&R as Swim Instructor of the Summer, received the SSL Excellence in Coaching Award, was named PIL Swim Coach of the Year, and led the Grant High girls team to 1st place at district champs and the boys team to 2nd!

Since joining PAC, Scott has worked with every group and held every coaching and admin position. Scott has coached several National Age Group Top 10 and Top 100 swimmers and taken senior swimmers to multiple National level championships. In 2022, Scott was selected to be a part of the Oregon Age Group All-Stars coaching staff and was named the Head Coach of the Oregon Western Zone Age Group Champs team. Scott has found true purpose in coaching and is passionate about teaching swimmers important life lessons through swimming. He believes that focusing on creating excellent people is the path to excellent swimming. He loves every minute of his time on deck and is proud to be the Head Coach of PAC. When off deck, you will find Scott enjoying time with his wife, Alex, playing guitar, drums, and violin, riding or racing mountain bikes, motorcycles, and karts, surfing, or learning something else fun and new!

Chelsea Krisanda - Associate Head Coach (Interim Head Coach)

P1, P2, P3 Coach | ASCA Level 2

Chelsea has been swimming all her life! She began swimming competitively at age 6 and participated in club swimming throughout her youth in upstate New York. She competed for her high school varsity team, earning all-county and state honors, and went on to compete at the NCAA Division I level for the University of Vermont. During her college career, Chelsea specialized in the IM and butterfly events. She broke varsity records in the 200 and 400 IM and earned America East All-Conference honors in the 400 IM.

After graduating from UVM with a B.S. in psychology, Chelsea coached for club teams in Vermont and New York and competed in Masters swimming before moving out to Portland in 2016. Chelsea recently graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine with her Masters of Acupuncture and is working towards her career as an acupuncturist. Since moving to Portland, she has taught private swimming lessons for all ages and is excited to get back into club swim coaching! Chelsea has turned her competitive drive towards powerlifting in the last three years, and in her free time enjoys lifting weights, hiking, skiing, playing the piano and cello, and snuggling with her dog, Juniper.

Jesse Raskauskas - Mt. Scott Lead Site Coach

P3, Senior, Gold, Silver, Bronze Coach | ASCA Level 4

Jesse has led our program at Mt. Scott since 2002. His favorite thing about working with swimmers is that it doesn't feel like work at all! Sharing in swimmers' joy when they achieve personal records in the pool is a highlight. Growing up, he swam with the Corvallis Aquatic Club and Corvallis High School. He excelled in multiple events including freestyle, backstroke, and relays. He finished his senior year as team co-captain. Jesse then spent a few years working as a lifeguard, camp counselor, and swim instructor before he realized his talent for teaching. He moved to Portland and received a master's of teaching from Concordia and now teaches in the David Douglas School District.

Jesse and his wife, Jamie (they met through their shared love of swimming - both lifeguards), their two small children, and two enormous labradoodles named Winchester and Macguyver, live near Mt. Scott. When not sleep-deprived or changing diapers, they enjoy lazy days on the river and spending time outdoors with the family.

Margaret Preston - Parkrose Lead Site Coach

P3, Senior, Gold, Silver, Bronze Coach | ASCA Level 2

Coach Margaret has been a swimmer for as long as she can remember! She first joined swim team in middle school, starting with Summer Swim League, and then moving onto PAC in 8th grade. She swam with Coach Tom at Columbia for a year before taking a step back to focus on high school. She swam varsity in high school for all four years, swimming the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly (until senior year where she traded out fly for the 200 free), and rejoined PAC her Junior year of high school and swam with Coach Jesse at Mount Scott for a brief few weeks, before bumping up to swim with Coach Jody at Matt Dishman for the remainder of high school. After high school Margaret started coaching for Summer Swim League that summer right after high school, and continued for three years until she was able to take a step up and be the program specialist for the program for another three years! During college she played club water polo at OSU, where she is currently finishing her BS in infant and child development. She moved back to Portland in 2018 where she was able to coach Grant High School water polo for one season, and was able to start her first year coaching for PAC with Coach Jesse! Her favorite events are the distance freestyle events, but she loves to encourage new and young swimmers to figure out what gives them joy in the sport! She is so excited to be the lead site coach at Parkrose and is ready to take on the leadership that will require. GO PAC!!!

Erin Morris - Southwest Lead Site Coach

P3, Senior, Gold, Silver, Bronze Coach

I'm originally from Indiana but I have lived in Portland for 28 years. I have always been a swimmer. I enjoy many sports but swimming is my favorite by far. When I'm not coaching PAC, I'm working as a para educator and as the head coach of the swim team at Franklin High School. I was recognized for this work with the PIL Coach of the Year award in the 2022-23 school year.

I have a husband and two kids, one a swimmer, and the other a baseball player. In my free time I enjoy time with my friends and family, usually doing something outside. I'm interested in hiking, camping and most activities that are designed for the water!

Claire Greene - Assistant Performance Coach

P1, P2, P3 Coach

I am originally from northern Virginia, and began swimming since before I can remember! It was an all encompassing part of my childhood that I fell in love with at an early age. I competed on club, high school and summer league teams during my time in Virginia. Before my junior year of high school my family and I moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where I continued my swimming career for an additional two years.

In 2016 I began my collegiate swimming career here in Portland at Lewis & Clark College where I majored in International Affairs. Swimming has had such an incredible impact on my life in many ways, and I am excited to share that experience with many of our PAC swimmers!

I was then an assistant coach for SWOCC and coached the team to Nationals. Our coaching staff won the Men's and Women's Coach of the Year award!
