ORIENTATION OVERVIEW

PAC offers a two-part series of orientation sessions for parents and guardians who are new to the team. Orientation 101 provides a basic introduction to the team and Orientation 201 covers more advanced topics. Each family can earn 1.5 service hours per session for attending.

Basic Orientation 101

The first orientation session focuses on essential information needed to give each new family a solid foundation with the team. The content will be most helpful to parents and guardians in the first weeks or months after joining the team. Orientation 101 covers the following topics:

  1. Service hour and fundraising requirements
  2. Dues and billing procedures
  3. Gear requirements
  4. How to record service hours and register for a swim meet
  5. Resources for support

Advanced Orientation 201

The team also offers a more advanced orientation, open to all parents and guardians. The content will be most helpful to families in the first few years on the team. Orientation 201 covers the following topics:

  1. PAC structure
  2. Parent roles & responsibilities
  3. Time standards
  4. The IMX/IMR Challenge: how to participate and why
  5. Swimming apps for mobile devices
  6. How to provide feedback, check service hour and fundraising balances, and more
